Give your team access

Create user accounts, optionally group them, and grant each person the right role on a project.

Getting your team into a project is two things: an account to sign in with (created once, organization-wide) and access to the project with a role (granted per project). Groups make the second part scale.

1. Create accounts

Where: Users.

Each person needs a login. In Users, click New to add one — a Name, Email, and an initial Password. They change that password the first time they sign in, so it’s just a handoff secret to share securely.

See Users for managing accounts afterwards.

Where: User groups.

Rather than granting access person by person, put people who need the same access into a user group — “Site operators”, “Facility managers”. Create one from New, name it, and add its members.

Granting a group access to a project gives the role to everyone in it, and you manage membership in one place instead of editing every project. It’s the scalable way to run access.

3. Grant access on the project

Where: Projects › your project › Permissions.

Open the project’s Permissions, click the Edit button, then add a principal with New and search for a user or group. Select it and set its role in each application slot that applies:

  • Cloud — Viewer · Manager · Admin (what they configure in the Cloud).
  • Cloud + Edge — Viewer · Operator (an operational role in both apps).
  • Edge — Viewer · Operator (what they do on the on-site Edge).

At least one slot must be set. Click Add, then Save. You can add several principals at once and bulk-edit roles later.
