Create a project

Create a new project — its name, type, location, and the server it draws data from.

Projects

A project represents one building or site. Projects are created from the organization-wide Projects list, so this is a system-administrator task.

1. Start a new project

Open Projects and click New. Fill in the project’s details:

  • Name — how the project appears everywhere in the app.
  • Project type (required) — the type it’s based on, which sets its category and defaults.
  • Location (required) — the site’s address; pick the point on the map so the project shows in the right place.
  • Server (optional) — the server that feeds it data. Choose the one you registered for this site; a server can feed more than one project. You can also set this later.
  • Description (optional) — a note for whoever manages it.
  • Enabled — on by default; leave it on so the project is live.

Click Create and the project appears in the list.

2. What’s next

A fresh project is empty. From here you add its content — usually in this order:

  1. Connect devices and add tags so it has data.
  2. Build pages to show that data.
  3. Set up alarms on the tags that matter.
  4. Give your team access to it.

The full setup path walks the whole sequence.
