Events

Schedule tag writes from the Cloud, or push schedule times into device tags.

Events let a project act on a schedule, writing values to tags at set times so routine changes happen automatically rather than by hand — raising a setpoint each weekday morning, switching equipment off overnight, or applying a value on a single date.

Two kinds of events

Which type you create depends on what performs the action — the Cloud or a device.

  • Cloud event — the Cloud writes a value to a writable tag at a scheduled time, once or on a repeating schedule. Use it to set a target, toggle a state, or apply a value automatically — for example raising a setpoint each weekday morning and lowering it again at night.
  • Device event — writes a start and end time, encoded as numbers, into two device tags for a chosen day of the week, so a device runs its own weekly schedule from values it reads locally.

To create either type, open the Events view and choose the type from the New menu; each type has its own form.

On the calendar

The Events view shows every event on a calendar. Switch between month, week, day and list views, and use the search box to filter by name. A repeating event appears on each day it runs; a one-time event appears on its single date. Select any event to open its details.
