Cloud events

Write a value to a tag on a schedule, driven by the Cloud.

A Cloud event has the Cloud write a value to a tag at a scheduled time. Each event writes a start value at its start time and an end value at its end time, so a tag is set one way for a period and then reset — for example a setpoint of 21 from 08:00 and 18 from 17:00.

Target tag and values

  • Target tag — the writable tag the values are written to. Its data type is detected automatically and determines what the values may be: a number for a numeric tag, or on/off for a boolean tag.
  • Start value — written at the start time.
  • End value — written at the end time.

Schedule

  • Start time and End time — when each value is written, in the project’s time zone.
  • Time zone — the project’s time zone, shown for reference; the times you enter are interpreted in it.
  • Repeat — how often the event recurs:
    • Does not repeat (default) — the event runs once, on the Date you choose.
    • Weekly — the days of the week it applies to.
    • Monthly — the day of the month.
    • Yearly — the month and day of the month.
  • Priority — higher values take precedence when several events apply at the same time.

Exceptions

  • Exception dates — specific days a recurring event is skipped, such as holidays.
  • Include project exceptions — also skip the project’s shared exception dates, so a single holiday list applies across many events.

Enabling and disabling

Turn Enabled off to keep an event’s configuration without it running, and back on when you need it again. A disabled event stays on the calendar but never writes to its tag.
