Trends
View, create, and manage trend charts in the Cloud application.
A trend charts how one or more tags change over time, so you can see patterns, compare values, and investigate what happened in your building.
In the Cloud you can create trends, choose what they show, and manage them across your projects.
Building a trend
A trend plots one or more tags over time. Give it a name, add the tags, and drag them to reorder.
For each tag on the chart you control how it’s drawn, so several series stay easy to tell apart:
- Label type — what names the series in the legend: the tag’s Name, its Description, or a Custom label you type. Description is the one to reach for when your tag names are machine-readable but not human-readable.
- Stroke type — solid, dotted, dashed, or dash-dotted.
- Stroke width and Stroke color.
From a page
You don’t have to start from the Trends view. If the tags you want are already on a page, open it and use Create trend there — you pick the tags off the diagram and the trend is created from them. See Creating a trend from a page.
Choosing the time range
Pick the period the chart covers using a preset — last hour, last day, last week, last month, last year, or all time — or set a custom range. You can also follow values as they arrive in real-time.
To smooth out busy data, you can group by minute, hour, or day, which aggregates the values into those intervals. Leave it on None to plot every recorded point.
Private and shared trends
A trend has an ownership:
- Private — visible only to you.
- Shared — available to others with access to the project.
This lets you keep personal, exploratory charts to yourself while publishing the ones the whole team relies on.
