Working with projects
Open, create, and edit the project for a building in the Cloud.
A project is your workspace for a single building or site. In the Cloud you can open any project you have access to, and — with the right permissions — create new ones and edit their details.
Opening a project
The Projects list shows the projects you have access to. Open one to enter its workspace, where the sidebar gives you everything for that building: its tags, pages, alarms, trends, documents, and settings.
Creating a project
When you create a project, you give it a few key details:
- Name and an optional description.
- Project type — a label that classifies the project by kind (for example office, data center).
- Server — the on-site Edge system that will feed this project its data.
- Location — an address and map position, used to place the building on the map.
Once created, the project appears in your Projects list and is ready for you to configure its tags, alarms, and the rest.
Editing a project
You can change a project’s name, description, location, and other details at any time from the project’s General view. Broader configuration — such as how tag values are displayed or which utilization alarms are enabled — lives in Project settings.
