Planar range
Trigger an alarm when two tags, as an (X, Y) point, fall inside or outside a region.
A planar range condition treats two tags as the X and Y of a point and triggers depending on whether that point falls inside or outside a region you draw. Use it for two-dimensional operating envelopes, where the acceptable range of one value depends on another — for example a compressor’s allowed pressure range depending on its temperature.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Source tag X | The tag used as the X (horizontal) coordinate. |
| Source tag Y | The tag used as the Y (vertical) coordinate. |
| Points | The corners of the region, drawn on a 2-D plot. Add, move, and remove points to shape the area. |
| Inverted | Whether the alarm triggers outside the region (inverted) or inside it. |
How it triggers
At each update THMI plots the current (X, Y) point against the region defined by the points. By default the condition is met while the point lies outside the region — the normal operating envelope is the area you draw, and leaving it raises the alarm. Turn on inverted to flip this, alarming while the point is inside the region instead.
