Number value
Trigger an alarm by comparing a numeric tag against a value or another tag.
A number value condition compares a numeric tag against a threshold using an operator. It’s the most common condition — use it for “too high”, “too low”, “off setpoint”, and similar checks.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Source tag | The numeric tag being watched. |
| Operator | How the tag is compared to the target: equal to, not equal to, greater than, greater or equal to, less than, or less or equal to. |
| Target | What to compare against — either a fixed value you enter, or another tag (so the threshold can track a live setpoint). |
| Deadband | How far the value must move back past the threshold before the alarm clears. Prevents flapping when a value hovers right at the threshold. |
How it triggers
The condition is met whenever source operator target is true — for example
source greater than 80. With a deadband, once triggered the value must
fall back below target − deadband (for a greater than check) before the
condition clears, so a noisy signal sitting near the threshold doesn’t toggle the
alarm on and off.
Comparing against a tag target lets the threshold move — for example alarm when a supply temperature is greater than its setpoint tag plus a margin.
