Alarm Manager
See active alarms and respond to them — acknowledge, snooze, and comment.
The Alarm Manager is where you see what’s currently happening and respond. While the Alarms view is about defining rules, the Alarm Manager is about acting on the alarms those rules have raised.
Seeing what’s active
The Alarm Manager lists alarms and their current state, such as:
- Unacknowledged — triggered and not yet handled.
- Acknowledged — someone has taken responsibility for it.
- Normal — the condition is no longer met.
- Returned unacknowledged — went back to normal before anyone acknowledged it.
- Snoozed — notifications are temporarily paused.
Filtering
The list is filtered from a row of controls above it. Four filters are always shown:
- Active — whether the alarm is currently active.
- Last occurrence — a date-and-time range for when it last triggered.
- Priority — the alarm’s priority.
- Acknowledged — whether it has been acknowledged.
More adds three that are hidden by default: Name, Category, and Snoozed. Clear resets everything you’ve changed.
Live updates
The Alarm Manager updates on its own, which is right when you’re watching a plant and wrong when you’re reading a list and trying to act on a row. The Live / Paused toggle above the table controls that:
- Live — new and changed alarms appear as they happen.
- Paused — the list holds still, and the toggle turns into a Refresh button for when you want the latest.
R refreshes while paused. Pause before working through a busy list — it’s the difference between acknowledging the alarm you meant to and the one that took its place.
Responding to an alarm
- Acknowledge — confirm you’ve seen the alarm and are handling it. Your project may require a comment when acknowledging.
- Snooze — pause notifications for a chosen period (for example 30 minutes, an hour, a day, or a custom duration) when you’re already aware and don’t need reminding.
- Comment — record what’s happening or what was done. The history of comments stays with the alarm.
Categories and permissions
Which alarms you see and what you’re allowed to do with them can depend on their category. For example, some users may be able to view alarms in a category while only others can acknowledge them.
