Transformation
Convert a raw reading into a more useful value.
A transformation converts a tag’s raw reading into a more useful value before it’s stored and used — for example scaling a raw sensor signal into engineering units, or extracting a single bit. Enable transformation on a tag and choose a type. The transformed data type sets the type of the result.
Linear
Map an input range onto an output range — the standard way to scale a raw signal into real units:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Input range (min / max) | The range of the raw value. |
| Output range (min / max) | The range it’s mapped onto. |
For example, a 0–10 V signal representing 0–100 °C maps input 0–10 to output
0–100.
Multiply
Multiply the raw value by a factor — a simple scale (e.g. unit conversion).
Bit
Extract a single bit from the value by its index — useful when a register packs several boolean flags into one number.
