Elements

The non-symbol building blocks of a page — shapes, text, images, and camera feeds.

Besides equipment symbols, a page is built from general-purpose elements. Shapes and text come from the toolbar; images and cameras come from the Assets menu. All of them are configured in the Properties panel.

Shapes

The basic vector shapes for drawing pipework, backgrounds, and diagrams:

ShapeWhat it is
RectangleA box, with an optional corner radius for rounded corners.
EllipseAn ellipse or, when its width and height match, a circle.
LineA straight line between two points.
PolylineA multi-segment line — draw it point by point, then Esc to end.

Shapes share the appearance settings — fill, stroke, opacity, effects — covered in Element properties. Use them to draw the ducts and pipes that connect your symbols, or as colored backgrounds for zones of a diagram.

Not all of them apply to every shape. Only rectangles have a corner radius. A line has a stroke and opacity but no fill and no effects. A circle has no effects either.

Text

A text element places a label on the page. Set its font, size, style (bold, italic, underline), and alignment.

Text is the element you’ll bind most often. Give it an expression and it shows a live value, a formatted reading, or a computed label rather than fixed text — a temperature next to a sensor, a run-hours count under a pump. Text also supports automation binding, so a label can be wired up from your naming convention along with everything else.

When a text element is showing a value and the underlying tag has a problem, it displays Error. Hover it in preview or view mode and a tooltip names the tag and says whether it wasn’t found or has a value error — which is usually enough to tell a renamed tag from a broken device.

Image

An image element places a picture on the page — a logo, a photo of the plant, or a floor plan to draw equipment over. Add it from the Assets menu, under Embed.

Camera

A camera element shows a camera feed in context, next to the equipment it watches. Add it from Assets → Embed → Camera, then pick which camera it shows in the element’s Source section, along with how often that element fetches a fresh picture. See Cameras on a page.

Indicators

Two of the equipment symbols exist purely to show status at a glance, and are worth knowing about even if you use nothing else from the library:

  • LED — an indicator light with Enabled and Manual states, bound to a tag or expression like any other symbol. It also has an Enabled color, so one page can use green for running, amber for standby, and red for tripped rather than every LED lighting up the same.
  • State Indicator — a plain shape meant to be driven by conditions on its own appearance. It has no built-in states; you color it yourself from an expression, which makes it the right choice when “OK / fault” isn’t a simple on/off.

Both are added from Assets → System.
